10/03/2022 Football – Europa League – Sevilla v West Ham United
- Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial is a major doubt for Sevilla having missed their last three through injury.
- West Ham are Martial’s second favourite team to score against (6 goals in 13 appearances).
- Sevilla could be well short in attack on Thursday as Erik Lamela, Suso and Papu Gomez are also injury concerns for the Spanish outfit.
- Diego Carlos missed out completely at the weekend so Nemanja Gudelj is on standby if required again at centre-back.
- Thomas Delaney is suspended for Sevilla after his red card last time out in the Europa League.
- Former Manchester City midfielder Fernando will start in midfield as a result of Delaney’s absence if he is available.
- Scan results showed Jarrod Bowen avoided any real injury after coming off against Liverpool on Saturday in a major boost for West Ham.
- Nevertheless, he remains a doubt heading into Thursday’s game with Sevilla and Nikola Vlasic or Said Benrahma may deputise.
- David Moyes will desperately hope to have Declan Rice back from illness after his key midfielder missed the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool over the weekend.
- West Ham are still without defensive duo Vlad Coufal and Angelo Ogbonna, but Arthur Masuaku was back on the bench on Saturday.
- Alphonse Areola was West Ham’s goalkeeper during the group stage of the Europa League and he will hope to keep his place in the side on Thursday.

- Aaron Ramsey was an unused substitute at the weekend as he continues to battle fitness problems since his arrival from Juventus.
- Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo missed out once again at the weekend and remains a doubt heading into Thursday’s game.
- Ryan Jack was fit to start in the 1-0 win over Aberdeen and Filip Helander made the bench but Steven Davis missed out and remains a doubt here.
- Rangers are expected to go unchanged from the side that dumped Borussia Dortmund out of the last round.
- January signing Ohi Omoijuanfo has scored in four of his first five league matches for FK Crvena Zvezda.
- Nemanja Motika was signed from Bayern Munich’s youth team in January but the 18-year-old is being integrated into the first-team slowly. He will only make the bench here.
- Fellow winter transfer Cristiano Piccini should join Omoijuanfo in the starting XI for the Serbian outfit in midweek.
- Milos Degenek played regularly during the group stage but he has since departed stateside to MLS. He will need replacing at centre-back.
- Veljko Nikolic is ruled out for FK Crvena Zvezda on Thursday night.

One of those key injury absences has been Jamie Vardy.
The former England striker made his first start of 2022 in the 1-0 win against Leeds at the weekend, having been sidelined for more than two months with a hamstring issue, but is now facing weeks out with a knee issue.
Leicester had hoped to have defender Wesley Fofana back soon after a long spell out with a fractured fibula but the Frenchman tested positive for Covid-19 this week.
