  • Orestis Karnezis is Lille’s only only concern for Wednesday’s welcome of Chelsea.
  • The Greek goalkeeper would not have started anyway, with Leo Jardim Lille’s first choice between the sticks.
  • The hosts may go for a 4-2-3-1 setup once more, with Renato Sanches featuring on the right and Hatem Ben Arfa potentially starting behind Jonathan David.
  • Reece James and Ben Chilwell are Chelsea’s only confirmed absentees for Chelsea’s trip to Lille.
  • Cesaz Azpilicueta and Callum Hudson-Odoi, though the former is the more likely of the two to make the squad here.
  • Thiago Silva, Marcos Alonso and Christian Pulisic could all start at the expense of Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr and Timo Werner, while Mateo Kovacic is also pushing for a spot in the side.

  • However, Max Allegri is without Weston McKennie, Denis Zakaria, Leonardo Bonucci, and Federico Chiesa through injury.
  • Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala both took part in training earlier this week following a spell on the sidelines and are expected to feature in some capacity on Wednesday night.
  • Federico Bernardeschi was banned for the 3-1 win at Sampdoria over the weekend, but has recovered from injury and is an option for Allegri here.
  • The Italian and Daniele Rugani are battling for a spot in the XI, though the latter may feature from the outset, which would see Juan Cuadrado start on the right flank.
  • Alberto Moreno is a confirmed absentee for Villarreal, while head coach Unai Emery is sweating on the fitness of key quartet Juan Foyth, Etienne Capoue, Raul Albiol and Gerard Moreno.
  • Francis Coquelin is an option in the middle of the park, though Vicente Iborra impressed alongside Dani Parejo against Celta Vigo at the weekend.

  • Thiago may start in place of Naby Keita, but Salah is likely to be fit for Wednesday’s game.
