  • After a lengthy absence with a knee injury Marvelous Nakamba is stepping up his fitness and targeting a return after the international break.
  • Lucas Digne was forced off early on at West Ham and will also be back available after the break, but Douglas Luiz and Calum Chambers should be fit to start following facial injuries last weekend. Kortney Hause is out due to abdominal issue.
  • Emi Buendia has had an impact off the bench in the last two games and will hope to have done enough to return at the expense of Danny Ings or Ollie Watkins.
  • Takehiro Tomiyasu has a chance of returning to action and ensuring Mikel Arteta has a full squad to choose from this weekend, though he may play on the safe side with an international break looming.
  • Arsenal started well against Liverpool in the week but faded having gone behind and perhaps had one eye on this game as the race for fourth heats up.
  • Emile Smith Rowe will hope to come into the starting lineup but both Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli continue to impress.

  • Joint top scorer Andraz Sporar has missed the last two games due to injury and after both scored in the week, loanees Folarin Balogun and Aaron Connolly will hope to keep their places.
  • Elsewhere there is the usual competition on the left between the experienced Neil Taylor and Marc Bola, with the former getting the nod of late.
  • The rest of Chris Wilder’s side is relatively set in stone, injuries permitting.
  • Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both major doubts and unlikely to be risked ahead of the international break.
  • Andreas Christensen was forced off in the week against Lille and is unlikely to feature, with Trevoh Chalobah returning to the side.
  • The likes of Kepa, Sarr, Loftus-Cheek, Saul and Werner may all start, just as they did in the previous round at Luton.
