  • Jurgen Klopp could field whatever team he wanted against Manchester United and still be pretty confident they would win comfortably.
  • Even though Mo Salah is out of form and played the full 90 against Manchester City on Saturday, it would still be a surprise if he didn’t start here.
  • Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane were sensational at Wembley but Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are pushing for recalls. Mane had ice strapped to his foot when he came off.
  • Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip will push for returns at Anfield after only making the bench on Saturday.
  • Raphael Varane is more likely to return against Arsenal at the weekend than away to Liverpool.
  • Fred and Scott McTominay both look set to miss out leaving Ralf Rangnick with little choice but to start Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
  • Marcus Rashford was benched against Norwich once more and it’s hard to make a case that he starts here after Anthony Elanga’s positive display on Saturday.
  • Bruno Fernandes was involved in a car crash on Monday morning, but Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he is fine and is fit to feature at Anfield.
