  • Daniel Amartey, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Nampalys Mendy are all at AFCON, so unavailable for selection on Wednesday.
  • Boubakary Soumare will be assessed but Timothy Castagne has been ruled out for nine weeks due to a thigh injury.
  • Wesley Fofana, Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand, Jamie Vardy and Jonny Evans are all absent.
  • However, Patson Daka, Caglar Soyuncu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Luke Thomas are all available and look set to start here.
  • Cristian Romero is back in training for Tottenham, which is a huge boost, but Wednesday’s game is likely to come too soon for the Argentine.
  • Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon and Steven Bergwijn will be assessed ahead of the trip to the King Power Stadium, but Son Heung-Min misses out.
  • Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil are in competition to join Lucas Moura and Harry Kane in attack.

  • Rico Henry returned from injury after four weeks out in Brentford’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday but was subbed off after 49 minutes. Given the sharp turnaround time and the nature of his recent injury, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was benched here.
  • Sergi Canos was recovered from injury to replace Henry against Liverpool and he is expected to start here regardless of the decision made on his team-mate.
  • Brentford should still be without six players when they welcome Manchester United on Wednesday night.
  • Josh Dasilva got 45 minutes under his belt on his long comeback from injury in a midweek friendly but won’t be available for the first-team until after the winter break.
  • Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay return from suspension for Manchester United and both are expected to start against Brentford.
  • Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire, Phil Jones and Dean Henderson were fit to make the bench against Aston Villa.
  • Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo were both involved in training on Monday suggesting the pair will be available here after missing out against Villa.
  • Not that he would have started, but Jesse Lingard is expected to miss out with an ankle injury.
  • Anthony Elanga will hope to keep his place in the side after impressing manager Ralf Rangnick against Villa.
  • Paul Pogba is back in first-team training but won’t be considered for selection until after the winter break.
  • Edinson Cavani hasn’t really offered a lot in recent outings and may drop to the bench in midweek.
