Brentford v Newcastle United

Ivan Toney never really got a chance at Newcastle during a three-year spell at St. James’ Park at the start of his career and is the danger man for Brentford ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup meeting with the Magpies.

Ethan Pinnock is back from a one-match ban and should return in defence for the Championship side.

Christian Norgaard was back on the bench for Brentford’s 3-1 win over Reading at the weekend after more than two months on the sidelines.

Newcastle look set to be without for players for Tuesday’s trip to London to face Championship side Brentford in the Carabao Cup.

Martin Dubravka and Federico Fernandez are unlikely to feature for the Magpies, while Allan Saint-Maximin and Jamaal Lascelles both have COVID-19.

Steve Bruce is expected to shuffle his pack from the side that drew 1-1 with Fulham at the weekend.

Jamal Lewis, Ryan Fraser, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and Jacob Murphy should all return to the starting XI.

Arsenal v Manchester City

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed the defeat to Everton at the weekend with a slight calf issue and will not recover in time for Tuesday.

Gabriel will return to the starting XI in midweek after missing out on Saturday through suspension.

With the pressure growing on Mikel Arteta, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a stronger XI from the home side here.

Gabriel Jesus missed the 1-0 win away to Southampton at the weekend with a dental problem, while Aymeric Laporte was not deemed fully fit. Both are doubts here.

Sergio Aguero is still on the mend from a knee problem but could make his first start since October in midweek.
