  • Granit Xhaka and Kieran Tierney are sidelined for Arsenal, though with Mikel Arteta using the competition to rotate, neither player would have started anyway.

  • Bernd Leno is set to start between the sticks having fallen behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order.
  • Junior Firpo missed the 1-1 draw with Wolves due to injury and may not be risked in midweek.
  • Robin Koch, Luke Ayling, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha all miss the trip to London.

  • With Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku sidelined, Kai Havertz should get another chance to lead the line for the Blues in midweek.
  • Christian Pulisic and N’Golo Kante are doubts for the hosts and are unlikely to be risked ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle.
  • Thomas Tuchel should ring the changes with a number of fringe players, including Saul Niguez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley, all getting a chance to impress.
  • Armando Broja sustained a knock in Southampton’s 2-2 draw with Burnley on Saturday, though is ineligible to face his parent club anyway.
  • Jack Stephens and James Ward-Prowse miss out due to injury and suspension, respectively. Mohamed Elyounoussi is injured and misses out.
