Champions League 13/4/2021 – PSG v Bayern Munich

  • Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi are both available for head coach Mauricio Pochettino after the pair returned negative COVID-19 tests, which swells the PSG ranks.
  • However, Keylor Navas has emerged as a fresh doubt having come off at the break at the weekend, though Pochettino has played down fears of a prolonged spell on the sidelines and he should be fit to start.
  • Mauro Icardi and Layvin Kurzawa will be assessed, but Marquinhos and Juan Bernat are ruled out.
  • The former’s absence is a huge blow and could see Danilo Pereira drop into defence with either the returning Leandro Paredes or Ander Herrera set to start alongside Idrissa Gueye.
  • Hansi Flick could be without up to 10 senior players for the trip to Paris, with Douglas Costa, Corentin Tolisso, Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry confirmed absentees.
  • Alphonso Davies is well rested after serving a domestic ban and should start at left-back given Lucas Hernandez is struggling with a rib injury.
  • At the heart of the defence, Jerome Boateng and Nicklas Sule are doubts, with the former the more likely of the pair to feature.
  • Javi Martinez could make a rare start in central midfield with Marc Roca and Leon Goretzka doubts, though Flick could drop Thomas Muller in alongside Joshua Kimmich and bring Jamal Musiala into the XI.
  • Kingsley Coman came off at the break against Union Berlin, but should be fine to start out wide.
