  • Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Christian Pulisic is Chelsea’s only absentee concern for the welcome of Malmoe.
  • The Chelsea manager believes Romelu Lukaku’s goal drought is down to mental fatigue and has strongly hinted he could be given the night off here.
  • Nevertheless, Tuchel may take the opportunity to rotate and hand fringe players the chance to impress at Stamford Bridge.
  • Indeed, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kepa and Kai Havertz are among those who may start, while Malang Sarr could be given another chance to impress.
  • Anel Ahmedhodzic is suspended after his red against Zenit last time out, with Niklas Moisander expected to deputise.
  • Patriot Sejdiu, Ola Toivonen, Jonas Knudsen and Oscar Lewicki are all ruled out due to injury.

  • Fred and Edinson Cavani returned late from international duty and missed the 4-2 loss at Leicester on Saturday, but will hope to feature against Atalanta.
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he rushed Harry Maguire back far too quickly against Leicester so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he dropped out here.
  • However, with Raphael Varane out and Solskjaer clearly holding doubts over Eric Bailly he will hope his captain improves for Wednesday.
  • Forwards Amad Diallo and Anthony Martial are both unavailable for the home side, but Marcus Rashford scored on his return on Saturday and may replace Jadon Sancho in the side here.
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s ban was reduced to one game, so the right-back is available for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
  • Atalanta have an injury crisis in defence with captain Rafael Toloi and Berat Djimsiti both ruled out for Wednesday. 21-year-old Matteo Lovato may have to step in.
  • Wing-backs Hans Hateboer and Robin Gosens are also out, with Davide Zappacosta and Joakim Maehle set to take over.
  • Josip Ilicic will be hoping his brace against Empoli will be enough to start at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

  • Maximiliano Caufriez was dismissed in the 3-2 win at Napoli, so Nikolai Rasskazov should feature in defence.
  • Forwards Quincy Promes and Ezequiel Ponce are ruled out, which could see Jordan Larsson partner Aleksandr Sobolev in attack.
  • Wesley Fofana, James Justin and Wilfred Ndidi remain sidelined for Leicester.
  • Jonny Evans came off in their 4-2 win over Manchester United over the weekend, and while Brendan Rodgers has said it was because of cramp, he may not be risked on Wednesday afternoon.
