Europa League 9/12/2021. Plenty of British teams playing tonight, Rangers, Leicester City, Celtic and West Ham are in action.
Europa League 9/12/2021 – Olympique Lyonnais v Rangers
- Lyon may shuffle their pack on Thursday with top spot already secured in Group A.
- Jason Denayer came off before half-time at the weekend and is not expected to feature here.
- Back-up goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck will hope to feature on Thursday, while youngsters like Castello Lukeba and Habib Keita are pushing for starts.
- Jerome Boateng will be ruled out of Lyon’s first knock-out game if he is booked against Rangers so he won’t be risked here.
- Both one caution away from a one-match ban, neither Fashion Sakala nor Alfredo Morelos are likely to feature here with qualification already secured.

Europa League 9/12/2021 – Napoli v Leicester
- Napoli are missing the spine of their team in Kalidou Koulibaly, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Victor Osimhen for Thursday’s welcome of Leicester.
- Star duo Fabian Ruiz and Lorenzo Insigne are also both doubts after missing Napoli’s 3-2 defeat to Atalanta through injury at the weekend.
- Napoli went to a back three for the first time this season to mirror Atalanta at the weekend but should revert to a back four here if Ruiz and Insigne return.
- Leicester are top of Group C but could still crash out with defeat to Napoli. Brendan Rodgers will need to field a strong team if he wants to continue in the competition.
- Jamie Vardy was benched against Aston Villa so may well come into the starting XI to face Napoli. Kelechi Iheanacho may also start here in a 3-4-1-2 formation.
- James Justin and Youri Tielemans are getting closer to returns but it’s unclear if they will return to face Napoli.
- Boubakary Soumare will hope to reclaim his starting spot in midfield but it wouldn’t surprise if Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall kept his place in the side.
- Kasper Schmeichel claimed after Leicester’s defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday he may need a scan on his thumb so Danny Ward may be needed here.

- Liam Scales scored off the bench at the weekend and the centre-back may be required with his full debut for the club.
- Jota missed out completely at the weekend and is unlikely to be risked here.
- Nabil Fekir returns from a European and domestic suspension on Thursday if called upon by Real Betis.
- As Betis are guaranteed to finish second no matter what happens in midweek, the Spanish side may shuffle their pack against Celtic.
- Claudio Bravo, Martin Montoya and Victor Camarasa are all doubts for the away side.

Europa League 9/12/2021 – West Ham United v Dinamo Zagreb
- David Moyes will be relieved West Ham are through as group winners as the injuries are now starting to pile up.
- West Ham could be very short at the back in the coming weeks after Kurt Zouma and Ben Johnson went off injured in their 3-2 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
- Aaron Cresswell was already missing with a back injury, though should be available this coming weekend, while Angelo Ogbonna is out for the season.
- Moyes will have to dip into the academy, for someone like Jamal Baptiste, if he wants to rest one of Craig Dawson or Issa Diop with no other senior centre-backs available.
- Youngsters like Harrison Ashby, Dan Chesters and Sonny Perkins should get minutes on Thursday with wholesale changes expected.
- Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were surprisingly benched at the weekend so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they got minutes here.
- Summer signing Alex Kral could even make a rare start, while the likes of Mark Noble, Nikola Vlasic and Alphonse Areola should all feature.
- Dinamo Zagreb need a result to confirm second spot in Group H so should go with their best available XI on Thursday.
- Luka Ivanusec has been moved centrally of late with Luka Menalo playing off the left wing and that may continue here.
