Euros 6/7/2021 – Italy v Spain

  • Leonardo Spinazzola misses out after suffering a nasty Achilles injury in Italy’s 2-1 win over Belgium and his Euros is over. Emerson is the likely replacement for Spinazzola at left-back
  • Lorenzo Pellegrini also misses the meeting with Spain, while Alessandro Florenzi continues to be assessed.
  • Roberto Mancini has a decision to make in attack. Ciro Immobile put in a poor performance against Belgium and his place on the frontline is under threat from Andrea Belotti, but Federico Chiesa is likely to keep his spot in the side.
  • Pablo Sarabia will have an MRI scan for an adductor problem picked up against Switzerland and is a major doubt. Ferran Torres may deputise.
  • Luis Enrique is unlikely to make wholesale changes to his side, with Pau Torres getting the nod ahead of Eric Garcia against Switzerland and the Villarreal man may keep his spot alongside Aymeric Laporte.
  • Gerard Moreno blew his chance against Switzerland to serious challenge Alvaro Morata for a starting spot up front.
