Football 20/9/2021 – Barcelona v Granada

  • Injury-hit Barcelona have suffered three fresh blows, with both Jordi Alba and Pedri suffering setbacks during the Bayern Munich defeat midweek.
  • Youngster Alejandro Balde will come in at left-back, while Sergi Roberto will likely play in midfield, along with Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets.
  • Striker Martin Braithwaite has also been ruled out, but concerningly, for a long period due to requiring surgery.
  • That means Luuk de Jong will likely start up top, with Memphis Depay and Philippe Coutinho either side.
  • Thankfully for Barca, Ansu Fati is close to a return, though he is unlikely to feature here.
  • Neyder Lozano is the only absentee having fractured his tibia, ruling him out for a significant period of time.
  • A change of shape could be in order here for Granada following back-to-back defeats, and we could see Darwin Machis start up top to give the Andalusian side a much-needed outlet, alongside Luis Suarez.
  • Luis Abram did well last time out and could well slot into the defence to make a three-man back-line here.
