Football 24/8/2021 – Barrow v Aston Villa
- Barrow have no fresh injury concerns, with Mike Jones and Tom Beadling still sidelined.
- They will also likely continue to be without Matty Platt, Jamie Devitt and Dimitri Sea, the latter of which was a former Villa academy player.
- Mark Cooper could name an unchanged side from the defeat to Harrogate but may well sacrifice an attacker in order to combat Villa’s likely three-man midfield.
- Ollie Watkins, Bertrand Traore and Leon Bailey all missed out on the squad due to injuries against Newcastle and may not be risked until after the international break.
- Morgan Sanson is building his fitness but while this game may have been ideal to continue to do just that it may come too soon.
- Dean Smith could change his entire starting XI, though injuries may mean one of the wide men keep their place, with youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka and Jaden Philogene-Bidace tipped to start.
