  • Ralph Hasenhuttl will ponder changes from the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, most likely doing away with the back three.
  • Nathan Tella could make his first league start since the start of October as Mohamed Elyounoussi was not in the squad at the weekend.
  • Che Adams, Adam Armstrong and Armando Broja are in competition for two spots in attack.
  • James Maddison has played a direct hand in five goals in Leicester’s last two matches, claiming the WhoScored Man of the Match award in each outing.

  • Scans have confirmed Ben Foster won’t return until 2022 due to a groin strain so Daniel Bachmann now gets an extended run in the first team.
  • A hamstring injury will keep Nicolas Nkoulou out until the new year and there are concerns Ismaila Sarr will be out long-term with knee ligament damage.
  • Emmanuel Dennis has been a revelation for Watford this season but he is a big doubt to face Chelsea after coming off injured in defeat to Leicester at the weekend.
  • Adam Masina was also forced off against Leicester but should be okay to start against Chelsea. Former Tottenham defender Danny Rose is on standby.
  • Christian Kabasele was back on the bench at the weekend and may replace William Troost-Ekong at the back after his error on Sunday.
  • Juraj Kucka also needs to be assessed by the home side after missing out completely last weekend.
  • Thomas Tuchel will make changes to the side that started Sunday’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Manchester United, particularly as Chelsea face West Ham on Saturday lunch-time.
  • N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ben Chilwell are all unavailable for the Premier League leaders.
  • Timo Werner, Reece James and Jorginho are all doubts despite managing to train on Tuesday.
  • Thiago Silva has started all three games since the international break and it would be a surprise if he started here.
  • Kai Havertz, Saul Niguez, Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic and Ross Barkley will all push for starts here.

  • David Moyes is expected to recall Jarrod Bowen to the starting line-up on Wednesday, with Manuel Lanzini pushing for his first league start of the campaign.
  • Issa Diop is an option in central defence if Moyes needs to freshen things up for the welcome of Brighton.

  • Adam Lallana, Solly March and Shane Duffy are pushing for recalls on Wednesday, with Graham Potter likely to make changes.

  • Ruben Neves is suspended for this one after reaching five bookings for the campaign at the weekend. Leander Dendoncker should deputise in midfield.
  • Daniel Podence is still recovering from COVID-19 but could return at the weekend, leaving Trincao and Adama Traore battling for the final spot in Wolves’ front three.
  • Given the quick turnaround between matches, there is a chance two could start against Burnley.
  • Burnley’s game with Tottenham on Sunday was called off due to snow so their players should be fresh to face Wolves here.
  • James Tarkowski and Ashley Westwood are therefore still suspended as the game against Tottenham could not go ahead.
  • Sean Dyche will hope to benefit from the extra days rest to have Matej Vydra and Jay Rodriguez back from injury here.
  • Dale Stephens was named on the bench against Tottenham before it was called off. He has been sidelined all season.

  • Former Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz may have to settle for a place on the bench once again after Marvelous Nakamba’s fine showing at the weekend.
  • Former Manchester United winger Ashley Young may keep his place here after assisting Aston Villa’s opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
  • Emi Buendia will push for a recall to the starting XI on Wednesday but Danny Ings has been ruled out by Steven Gerrard.
  • Kevin De Bruyne is over COVID-19 but didn’t train on Tuesday making it unlikely he will feature at all on Wednesday.
  • Jack Grealish left boyhood club Aston Villa for Manchester City over the summer but may only make the bench at best here after only returning to training on Tuesday.
  • Phil Foden has the best chance of the three to feature in midweek but Ferran Torres continues to miss out.
  • Should Foden be cleared to start then Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus will be left battling for one starting spot in attack.
  • John Stones will come into the side for the suspended Aymeric Laporte.

  • Everton recover Richarlison from suspension for Wednesday’s welcome of rivals Liverpool but Mason Holgate is banned for one more match.
  • Abdoulaye Doucoure went straight back into the starting line-up at the weekend and will continue here.
  • Demarai Gray was fit enough to come off the bench against Brentford at the weekend and should return to the starting XI here.
  • Rafa Benitez would probably like to park the bus against Liverpool but with Holgate suspended and Yerry Mina still injured, he doesn’t really have the players to do it.
  • Few changes are expected from Liverpool when they face Merseyside rivals Everton on Wednesday.
  • This is the first game back at Goodison Park since Virgil van Dijk and Thiago suffered serious injuries.
  • Joel Matip will likely come in for Ibrahima Konate from Saturday’s 4-0 win over Southampton.
  • The fact Thiago has only played around an hour in each of Liverpool’s last two matches suggests a rest is coming either here or at the weekend.
  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on standby if Thiago drops out of the team here.
