Premier League 19/9/2021 – West Ham v Manchester United (14:00)

  • West Ham played a stronger side than expected in their Europa League group game against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night.
  • Kurt Zouma had a strong West Ham debut against Dinamo Zagreb and is pushing to start against Manchester United on Sunday.
  • Neither Craig Dawson nor Angelo Ogbonna featured in midweek so it would perhaps be harsh on one of those to miss out here. A back three is another option for Moyes.
  • Michail Antonio is suspended in a major blow for West Ham on Sunday. Jarrod Bowen is expected to play centrally as a result.
  • Jadon Sancho looks completely out of sorts at the moment so it will be interesting to see whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticks with him against West Ham.
  • Jesse Lingard will be desperate to play against his former club but confidence will be shot after his costly error in midweek.
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off in the Champions League on Tuesday and Diogo Dalot is now applying pressure to take his place.
  • Scott McTominay returned to training with Alex Telles on Thursday. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the former go straight into the starting XI on Sunday. Fred and Nemanja Matic are options too.
  • Edinson Cavani has been ruled out this weekend but could make his first appearance of the season in the EFL Cup next week.

  • Japhet Tanganga is suspended after his red card at Crystal Palace last week.
  • With Eric Dier a doubt, Cristian Romero could make his full debut alongside Davinson Sanchez at the heart of the defence. Though even Romero needs assessing.
  • Steven Bergwijn hobbled off in the first half of Tottenham’s Europa Conference League meeting with Rennes on Thursday and is unlikely to feature. Lucas Moura is also a doubt.
  • Son Heung-Min and Ryan Sessegnon will also be assessed, but Tanguy Ndombele made his first appearance of the season in France and is an option.
  • N’Golo Kante was not risked against Zenit in midweek but Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will be in the squad to face Tottenham.
  • Deadline Day signing Saul Niguez will drop out of the starting XI after experiencing a very tough debut last weekend. He was hooked at half-time.
  • Reece James returns from a ban to come into contention for the Blues, but Christian Pulisic misses out once more.
  • Kai Havertz may replace Hakim Ziyech from Tuesday’s victory.

Premier League 19/9/2021 – Dundee United v Dundee

  • Tam Courts made five changes, albeit enforced, from Dundee United’s 2-0 defeat at home to Hearts prior to the international break, as they followed that up with a stalemate against St Mirren, drawing 0-0 in Paisley.
  • Jamie Robson left for Lincoln City on transfer deadline day, meaning that former Hamilton Accies left back Scott McMann immediately made his United debut. Peter Pawlett returned from his suspension after his sending off against St Johnstone.
  • A change of shape saw Ian Harkes and Calum Butcher re-enter midfield as Chris Mochrie, Dylan Levitt and Adrian Sporle all made way. And Finnish international Ilmari Niskanen made his first start in Tangerine since signing from Ingolstadt.
  • James McPake made four changes after the Dee fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Motherwell at Fir Park, before a 0-0 stalemate at home to Livingston in their last Premiership match at the weekend.
  • Jordan Marshall returned at left back for Livingston coming to town and was joined in defence by Ryan Sweeney, replacing Liam Fontaine. Jordan McGhee moved into midfield to replace the injured Charlie Adam, slotting in alongside Shaun Byrne and Max Anderson.
  • Luke McCowan kept his place. However, Leigh Griffiths made a first start of his second Dundee spell, joined by the aforementioned McCowan and Alex Jakubiak. Jason Cummings and Paul McMullan dropped out.

Premier League 19/9/2021 – Livingston v Celtic

  • David Martindale named just one change to the Livingston team that recorded a 2-0 loss to Hibernian at Easter Road before a 0-0 stalemate with Dundee at Dens Park in their first match back after the international break.
  • Ben Williamson, the young on-loan Rangers midfielder, made his first league start for the Lions against Dundee at Dens. Odin Bailey, usually in support of Bruce Anderson in attack, dropped onto the substitutes bench.
  • That meant that there was a slight alteration which saw Alan Forrest and Andrew Shinnie, usually a midfield player, slotting in as part of the duo supporting frontman Bruce Anderson.
  • Ange Postecolgou made three changes from the Celtic side that overcame Ross County 3-0 at Parkhead, before kicking off their Europa League group stage against Real Betis in Seville, losing 4-3 in a topsy turvy clash.
  • Cameron Carter-Vickers impressed and opened the scoring on his debut, so kept his place. Greg Taylor dropped out, alongside Callum McGregor and Liel Abada. The returning Anthony Ralston, Ismaila Soro and Adam Montgomery took the trio’s places in Spain.
  • Albian Ajeti appears to be filling the void left by Odsonne Edouard departing for Crystal Palace, bagging a brace against County at Parkhead before opening the scoring in Seville in midweek.

Rangers v Motherwell
  • Steven Gerrard made four changes from the Rangers team that came from behind to beat St Johnstone 2-1 at McDiarmid Park, for their 2-0 defeat to Lyon at Ibrox in their Europa League group stage opener in midweek.
  • Allan McGregor replaced Jon McLaughlin, who seems to be first choice for domestic matters. Filip Helander missed the Lyon match due to injury, and was replaced by the returning Connor Goldson at the heart of the Gers defence.
  • Borna Barisic also replaced Calvin Bassey in the back four, whilst John Lundstram entered the midfield at Kemar Roofe’s expense as Joe Aribo moved up to join Ryan Kent in support of Alfredo Morelos up front.
  • Graham Alexander named three changes to the Motherwell team that beat Dundee 1-0 at Fir Park to claim back-to-back league victories, as they made it three on the spin with a 2-0 win against Aberdeen.
  • Sondre Solholm Johansen made his first Steelmen start, after signing from Mjøndalen in his native Norway, at centre back. Bevis Mugabi kept his place at right back in the absence of club captain Stephen O’Donnell.
  • Nathan McGinley covered the suspended Jake Carroll at left back and there was a start for Kevin van Veen, replacing Justin Amaluzor in the starting eleven. The Dutchman opened the scoring with his second league goal of the season.
