  • N’Golo Kante suffered a knee injury against Aston Villa on Boxing Day and looks set for another spell on the sidelines.
  • Thiago Silva also went off injured in the 3-1 win on Boxing Day and won’t feature against Brighton as a result.
  • Thomas Tuchel has been very cautious using Romelu Lukaku since he recovered from injury so it wouldn’t surprise if he was on the bench again here despite scoring on Sunday.
  • Saul Niguez or Callum Hudson-Odoi may have to play at left wing-back to give Marcos Alonso a rest ahead of their clash with Liverpool in the New Year.
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kai Havertz are still doubts for Chelsea.
  • Yves Bissouma is back available after missing their 2-0 win over Brentford through suspension on Boxing Day.
  • A late decision will have to be made on Leandro Trossard, who came off in the win with a tight hamstring. Joel Veltman is still a doubt after missing out on Sunday.
  • Danny Welbeck is pushing for his first Premier League start since September when Brighton travel to Stamford Bridge.
  • Adam Lallana may have to be assessed due to the sharp turnaround between matches, while Tariq Lamptey will hope to start at his former club.

  • Rico Henry and Bryan Mbeumo are major doubts to face Manchester City due to injury, while Christian Norgaard is suspended for one match.
  • With Vitaly Janelt out with COVID, Frank Onyeka and Saman Ghoddos are pushing for starts in midfield for Brentford, while Yoane Wissa is an option up front.
  • John Stones, Kyle Walker and Rodri all missed Manchester City’s 6-3 win over Leicester on Boxing Day and remain doubts here.
  • There was still no start for either Jack Grealish or Phil Foden after recently being reprimanded by Pep Guardiola for their off-field antics.
  • Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias would miss out against Arsenal if they are booked here so Guardiola may not take a risk.
