World Cup Qualifiers 2/9/2021
World Cup Qualifiers 2/9/2021. Plenty of games today. England and Northern Ireland play tonight.
World Cup Qualifiers 2/9/2021 – Hungary v England
- RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai is back in the fold after a nightmare 2021 with injuries and is Hungary’s dangerman. Loic Nego is in quarantine and is unavailable.
- Adam Nagy cannot face England after reaching an accumulation of bookings after Hungary’s first three World Cup qualifiers.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin has withdrawn from the England squad through injury, while Tyrone Mings is also a big doubt.
- Gareth Southgate has also revealed Jadon Sancho has a small knock and will be assessed, though wasn’t expected to start anyway.
- Jude Bellingham has made a storming start to the season with Borussia Dortmund and should start at least one of England’s three games during the international break.
- At this point it remains unclear whether Southgate will opt for a back three or back four against Hungary.
- One of the big motivations behind Jack Grealish’s move to Manchester City was to start for England regularly and he should get the nod in attack on Thursday.
- John Stones hasn’t featured for City this season but is expected to line up alongside Harry Maguire.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker and Reece James are pushing to start. Kieran Trippier is unlikely to be considered for Thursday having only just returned for Atletico.
