World Cup Qualifiers 28/3/2021. A full day of World Cup Qualifiers today. Albania v England is on ITV at 17:00. Israel v Scotland is on Sky Sports Main Event at 19:45. There is also a friendly between Northern Ireland v United States Of America at 17:05 on Sky Sports Football.
World Cup Qualifiers 28/3/2021 – Albania v England – 17:00
- Most of Albania’s squad play in Italy with notable players like Thomas Strakosha, Elseid Hysaj, Berat Djimsiti and Marash Kumbulla playing for some of Serie A’s biggest clubs.
- Freddie Veseli could replace Ardian Ismajli at centre-back for Albania, with Qazim Laci an option in midfield most likely for Klaus Gjasula.
- Reece James, John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount were all brought off at half-time in Thursday’s win over San Marino presumably with this game in mind.
- As Ben Chilwell got 90 minutes on Thursday, it’s safe to say Luke Shaw will make his return for England against Albania.
- Harry Maguire, Declan Rice and Harry Kane will also return for the Three Lions on Sunday.
- Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United for treatment on an ankle injury, while Bukayo Saka again misses out. Kyle Walker is a doubt after missing out against San Marino.
- As Albania play a back three, it will be interesting to see whether Gareth Southgate sticks with a 4-3-3 formation or reverts back to a 3-4-3.
- If he goes with the former then it would be great to see 17-year-old Jude Bellingham start, though James Ward-Prowse may keep his spot after an assured display in midweek.

- Defensive duo Orel Dgani and Taleb Tawatha are missing for Israel when they host Scotland on Sunday.
- Few changes are expected from the side despite defeat to Denmark in midweek. The home have dangerous players in Munas Dubbar and Eran Zahavi, in particular, that Scotland will need to watch out for.
- Che Adams will hope to make his full Scotland debut on Sunday after coming off the bench against Austria on Thursday.
- Scott McTominay was surprisingly used in central midfield in midweek having almost exclusively played a centre-back for Scotland previously. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him move back at one point in their next two games.
