• Manchester United are interested in appointing Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso to replace Erik ten Hag and are willing to wait until the summer for the former Liverpool midfielder. (Todofichajes – in Spanish)
• Aston Villa defender Pau Torres, 27, is a target for Manchester United, who are prepared to offer close to £42m for the Spain defender. (Fichajes – in Spanish)
• Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli want to sign Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 32, and his 33-year-old Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk when their contracts with the Reds expire at the end of the season. (Caught Offside)

• Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl says contract negotiations are ongoing with Jamal Musiala, 21, and he is “very confident” of a positive resolution with the Germany midfielder, who has been linked with possible moves to Manchester City and Arsenal. (Metro)
• Southampton are set to give 18-year-old Tyler Dibling a new deal to reward the progress made by the English midfielder, who is attracting growing interest from other clubs. (Sunday Mirror)
• Manchester United have received Premier League approval to sign Chido Obi-Martin, 16, who has represented England and Denmark at youth level. He has also confirmed the move from Arsenal in a social media post. (Manchester Evening News)
• Newcastle United are considering a rebuild of their St James’ Park stadium, which could cost up to £1bn and increase capacity to between 65,000 and 70,000. (Sunday Telegraph)
• Steve Holland, former deputy to England manager Gareth Southgate, is seeking his next role as a manager, rather than continuing as an assistant. (Sun on Sunday)
