  • Arsenal are interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, 22, and Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino, 28, but face competition from Barcelona for both Spanish internationals. (Standard)
  • Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, along with Paris St-Germain, are keen on signing 24-year-old Manchester United and England forward Jadon Sancho but cannot meet the Old Trafford club’s valuation. (Sky Sports)
  • United want £40m for Sancho. (Mirror)
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold is committed to Liverpool with the Reds hopeful the 25-year-old England right-back will sign a new contract amid interest from Real Madrid. (Sun)
  • Manchester City are in talks to sell Brazil right-back Yan Couto – who has yet to play for the club – to Borussia Dortmund and expect the German club to offer about £25m for the 22-year-old. (Mail)
  • Manchester United have offered just under 40m euros (£33.6m) for Netherlands centre-back Matthijs de Ligt but Bayern Munich will not accept less than 50m euros (£42.2m) plus add-ons for the 24-year-old. (Sky Sports Germany)
  • Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is understood to have been shocked at being left out of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States and the 25-year-old believes he is being forced out of the club. (Guardian)
