16/02/2023 Football Gossip & News

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly held discussions with Paris St-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Paris over a potential summer transfer move for 31-year-old Brazilian forward Neymar. This news has been circulating the football world, and many fans are keen to see if a deal will be struck.

Neymar has been a key player for PSG since his arrival in 2017, and his departure would certainly be a huge loss for the French giants. However, with his contract set to expire in 2022, it seems that PSG may be considering the possibility of selling him, and Chelsea may be the club to benefit.

Meanwhile, another high-profile player at PSG, Lionel Messi, is reportedly unsure about signing a contract extension with the club, which could open the door for the 35-year-old to move to MLS side Inter Miami. Messi’s deal with PSG runs out in the summer, and his potential departure from the club has been a topic of much discussion.

In other news, Arsenal is said to be monitoring the situation of Manchester United’s England forward Marcus Rashford, who has been linked with a potential move away from Old Trafford. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has also reportedly expressed an interest in signing 24-year-old Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

The Gunners, along with Manchester United, are also said to be interested in signing 26-year-old Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, who may be prepared to sell him in the summer. This news comes as no surprise given the need for both clubs to strengthen their backline.

Barcelona coach Xavi has revealed that Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, 25, did not want to join Manchester United last summer. However, Barca has agreed to sign 21-year-old Mexico right-back Julian Araujo until June 2026, a move that will see him start training with the Spanish giants this week.

Meanwhile, German champions Bayern Munich have identified 29-year-old England striker Harry Kane as the ideal striker for the club to sign, according to internal analysis carried out by the Bavarian outfit. Tottenham, Kane’s current club, will be keen to keep hold of their talismanic striker, whose contract runs until summer 2024.

In other transfer news, Aston Villa could listen to offers for Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, 30, in order to help fund the club’s summer rebuild. Portugal defender Joao Cancelo, 28, has also dismissed rumors of a falling out with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola before his loan move to Bayern Munich, calling the reports a “complete lie.”

Finally, there are reports that former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino could return to replace under-pressure Antonio Conte at the North London club.
