  • David Tomassini is ruled out after coming off after 36 minutes against Hungary, with Luca Ceccaroli expected to deputise on the left.
  • A number of players have pulled out of the England squad for their final World Cup qualifier.
  • Raheem Sterling is absent owing to personal reasons, while Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are all injured.
  • Conor Gallagher was called up to the England squad on Sunday morning and will make the trip to San Marino with the squad as he seeks to make his England debut.
  • Qualification isn’t yet secured, but Arsenal number one Aaron Ramsdale may be handed the chance between the sticks, while club teammate Emile Smith Rowe, who came on at the break against Albania, is hopeful of a full debut.
  • Gareth Southgate may take the chance to rest core players Harry Kane, Kyle Walker and Reece James, though the former will hope to use Monday’s game as a chance to close the gap on himself and Wayne Rooney in his pursuit of becoming England’s record goalscorer.
