  • Manuel Neuer, Corentin Tolisso and Leon Goretzka are all sidelined due to injury, with Sven Ulreich expected to continue between the sticks for the home.
  • Alphonso Davies is still suffering with a heart condition following a bout of COVID and is absent.
  • Lucas Hernandez was suspended for the 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, but should return at left-back for the welcome of Salzburg.
  • Salzburg have a host of injury concerns for the trip to Munich with no fewer than eight players absent.
  • With Jerome Onguene and Oumar Solet absent, Kamil Piatkowski is set to start alongside Max Wober at the heart of the defence.
  • In attack, Junior Chukwubuike Adamu scored at the weekend and is in line to partner Karim Adeyemi.

  • Thiago, Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip have all returned to full training ahead of Tuesday’s welcome of Inter, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
  • However, Firmino hasn’t featured since the first leg win over Inter and the midweek game may come too soon for the Brazilian, but Thiago and Matip may make the matchday squad on home turf.
  • That said, Klopp may name the same XI that started the win over West Ham on Saturday.
  • Perhaps the main selection issue will be who starts alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, with Naby Keita expected to again be given the nod.
  • Nicolo Barella remains suspended for the away side, and is Inter’s only absentee concern for the meeting with Liverpool.
  • However, his absence is a huge blow for Simone Inzaghi, who will likely bring Arturo Vidal back into the side for Tuesday’s game.
  • Robin Gosens has featured off the bench in the past week following his return from injury, but he is unlikely to displace Ivan Perisic at left wing-back at Anfield.
