23/12/2022 Football – Not much footy taking place today. In the Cinch Premiership, Ross County play Rangers. There are a few A-League games.
23/12/2022 Football – Ross County v Rangers
- Malky Mackay named three changes to the Ross County team that fell to a 2-1 defeat at Parkhead against Celtic, where they took the lead, prior to the World Cup, before they did so again against St Johnstone in Dingwall on Saturday afternoon.
- Jack Baldwin replaced club captain Keith Watson in the Staggies backline. But after Baldwin’s sending off against St Johnstone, it was Watson that took his place, so that may prove the case on Friday night once again.
- The other changes came in the wide areas, as David Cancola and Josh Sims made way for Owura Edwards and Kazeem Olaigbe. They joined Yan Dhanda in support of Jordan White who opened the scoring for County at the weekend.
- Michael Beale named just one change to the Rangers team that kicked off his tenure with a 3-2 win against Hibernian at Ibrox, before a mental midweek match against Aberdeen where two injury-time goals resulted in the same scoreline.
- The only alteration to the starting eleven was in defence. Connor Goldson came in to start alongside James Sands at the back, as John Lundstram dropped onto the bench. Ben Davies also featured after initially sitting amongst the substitutes.
- Scott Arfield’s pushing for a place after his injury-time heroics, where he bagged a brace to rescue Rangers. Fashion Sakala has also scored two goals in as many games as he, Malik Tillman and Ryan Kent continued to support Alfredo Morelos.
