  • Enner Valencia, who has scored all three of Ecuador’s goals this tournament, came off injured towards the end of the Senegal game, but is expected to start here.
  • Abdou Diallo returned for Senegal against Qatar, after previously being a doubt.
  • We may see Boulaye Dia partner Famara Deidhiou up top, after both scored against Qatar in their 3-1 win.

  • Matthijs De Ligt didn’t start against Ecuador but could start against Qatar.
  • Qatar suffered no injury concerns in their second match against Senegal, and have a full squad to select from.
  • Mohammed Muntari scored Qatar’s only goal and should be worthy of a start in place of Assim Madibo.

  • Alizera Beyranvand got consussion early on against England and will miss out, with Hossein Hosseini his replacement stepping up.
  • Alizera Jahanbakhsh is suspended for their crucial game against the USA, after picking up a second yellow card against Wales.
  • Ahmad Noorollahi came off injured with 13 minutes to go, but his replacement Roozbeh Cheshmi scored late on, so he might start in Noorollahi’s place.
  • Weston McKennie and Yunus Musah were both substituted with injuries against Wales but started the game against England, and should do the same here.

  • Wayne Hennessey will miss out through suspension, after being sent off against Iran.
  • Kyle Walker made the bench against the USA, but is likely to not be risked against Wales.
  • James Maddison was still absent against the USA and is a doubt again here.
  • Southgate named the same unchanged side to the XI again against the USA, but a relatively poor performance may make him change it up.
  • Phil Foden, who is on every fan’s lips, might come in to the side. Jordan Henderson is also reported to replace Jude Bellingham in the side.
  • Ben White, who might not have been selected to start, is a doubt as he missed out an open training session through illness.
