  • Barcelona has set its sights on Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, currently with Newcastle United. However, the transfer might cost around €100 million (£87 million). At the same time, Newcastle aims to secure Guimaraes with a new contract despite the interest from Barcelona​1​​2​.
  • Roberto Firmino, the 31-year-old Brazilian forward from Liverpool, could potentially move to Real Madrid as he becomes a free agent this summer. Firmino is currently assessing how he would fit into Real Madrid’s plans before making a decision​1​​2​.
  • Mauricio Pochettino, the 51-year-old former Tottenham and Paris St-Germain manager, has accepted a three-year contract to become the new Chelsea head coach​1​.
  • Carlo Ancelotti, the current Real Madrid boss, is being courted by Brazil to become their next head coach, following the departure of Tite after the World Cup in Qatar​1​.
  • Manchester United is hopeful about signing South Korea defender Kim Min-jae, 26, and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, 24, from Napoli. Newcastle United has also shown interest in Kim​1​.
  • Tottenham is standing firm against Manchester United’s attempts to sign 29-year-old England striker Harry Kane. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not willing to sell to a Premier League rival​2​.
  • Manchester United is looking to persuade Chelsea’s 24-year-old England midfielder Mason Mount to join their squad as part of a summer overhaul demanded by their manager, Erik ten Hag​2​.
  • Bayern Munich has shown willingness to pay £95m to sign West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice, 24, attempting to outbid Arsenal​2​.
  • Paris St-Germain is considering a surprise move for Arsenal’s 24-year-old Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard​2​.
  • Crystal Palace has approached former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter for their vacant managerial position​2​.
  • Brighton has signed Germany midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, 27, on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund​2​.
  • Liverpool has turned down a permanent transfer offer from abroad for Portugal Under-21 attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho, preferring a loan deal instead​2​.
  • Lionel Messi’s father and agent Jorge has agreed to a two-year deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal worth 1.2bn euros (£1.1bn). Meanwhile, Barcelona’s boss Xavi is in talks with Messi for a possible summer return to the Camp Nou​2​.
  • Chelsea has initiated talks to sign 22-year-old Uruguay and Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte​2​.
