Premier League 1/5/2021 – Crystal Palace v Manchester City

  • Crystal Palace could be without seven players for Saturday’s welcome of Manchester City on Saturday.
  • Aside from the suspended John Stones, it’s just as well Pep Guardiola has a full squad to pick from as they have ridiculously been given the 12:30 slot on a Saturday when they faced Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday night.
  • Only just back from an ankle injury, it would be a real surprise if Kevin De Bruyne was named in the starting XI at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Others like Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan should also be held back by Guardiola with an eye on the second leg next week.
  • Left footers Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte have never played centre-back together so we could get one final appearance from Eric Garica before he moves to Barcelona this summer.
  • Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Sergio Aguero will all hope to start against Palace.

  • Brighton welcome back Ben White from suspension and he will likely slot in to play his former club on Saturday.
  • Solly March and Tariq Lamptey are both sidelined, while Percy Tau and Florin Andone are doubts, though would not be considered to start in any case.
  • Dan Burn, Aaron Connolly, Alexis Mac Allister and Steven Alzate will all push for starts on Saturday.
  • Adam Lallana must train on Friday otherwise he will be ruled out to face Leeds with a groin issue.
  • Leeds have Rodrigo back this weekend but Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed he will only make the bench. Raphinha remains sidelined, while Liam Cooper completes a three-match ban here.
  • Helder Costa will continue in the side if he recovers from a back problem sustained last weekend, otherwise Ian Poveda-Ocampo could be in line for his first start of the season.

Premier League 1/5/2021 – Chelsea v Fulham

  • Thomas Tuchel will certainly shuffle his pack on Saturday to keep his players fresh for next week’s Champions League match with Real Madrid.
  • Antonio Rudiger has been ruled out against Fulham along with Mateo Kovacic but has a better chance of facing Real Madrid of the two.
  • One of Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta will certainly be rested this weekend, most likely the former.
  • Mason Mount could drop deeper in midfield to give one of Kante and Jorginho a rest but it is far from ideal for Tuchel.
  • Fulham are waiting to find out whether Kenny Tete will be free to face Chelsea after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek will have to sit this one out due to the terms in his loan agreement from Chelsea.
  • Josh Maja will hope to keep his place in the side after scoring against Arsenal in Fulham’s last match.
  • It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Scott Parker revert to a back three on Saturday to mirror Chelsea’s set-up.
