- Brendan Rodgers blamed the fixture pile-up for dropping points last time out but with a week between matches he should be able to name the same starting XI here if he wants to.
- Luke Thomas has enjoyed a decent run in the side but Marc Albrighton and Ricardo Pereira are options if Rodgers wants to freshen things up, while Ayoze Perez could replace James Maddison in the No.10 position to face his former club.
- Fabian Schar capped his first performance in three months with a red card against Arsenal last weekend and he is now suspended.
- Matt Ritchie was fit enough to start against the Gunners at the weekend and Steve Bruce is also boosted by Joe Willock’s availability to face Leicester on Friday night. Willock has enjoyed most of his success as a substitute, however, and will likely only be on the bench here.
