09/03/2023 Football - Europa Conference League

09/03/2023 Football – Europa Conference League – Larnaca v West Ham

West Ham manager David Moyes has expressed his desire to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League, which would be a remarkable achievement for the team. The Hammers face AEK Larnaca in Thursday’s first leg of their last-16 tie. Despite the team’s struggles in the Premier League this season, Moyes believes that the Europa Conference League is a significant competition, citing Roma’s success under Jose Mourinho last year. He also expressed his disappointment at not being able to progress past the semi-finals in the Europa League last season and hopes to go further in the current competition.

09/03/2023 Football Gossip & News

Manchester United are looking to make a splash in the summer transfer market, with reports suggesting that they are willing to pay €130m (£115m) to acquire the services of Real Madrid’s talented 20-year-old midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. This is in addition to their reported interest in Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus, both of whom are said to be on United’s radar.

To make room for these potential additions, Manchester United are also reportedly looking to sell several first-team players, including their captain and England defender Harry Maguire. This would be a major shake-up for the club, but it could be necessary if they hope to compete at the highest level in the coming years.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund are standing firm on their valuation of young English midfielder Jude Bellingham, despite interest from Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. Liverpool, in particular, are said to be increasingly confident that they can sign Bellingham, but their hopes may rest on their ability to secure Champions League football.

Meanwhile, Paris St-Germain are reportedly interested in Newcastle United’s Dutch defender Sven Botman. In contrast, Leeds United’s German defender Robin Koch is said to be a potential signing for Newcastle, as well as several Bundesliga clubs.

Despite having already signed three central defenders since Todd Boehly bought the club last May, Chelsea remain interested in RB Leipzig’s Croatian centre-back Josko Gvardiol.

In other news, Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, may no longer be looking to sell the club, despite receiving offers. Real Madrid’s Belgian forward Eden Hazard intends to stay with the club until his contract expires in 2024. Bayern Munich are set to reject the chance to make the loan signing of Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo permanent for £62m.

Finally, Newcastle United could tempt Barcelona into selling Brazilian winger Raphinha if they match the £55m fee the Spanish club paid to sign him from Leeds United last year. Liverpool, meanwhile, are reportedly leading the race to sign Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes, as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to revamp his midfield.

In the Championship, Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is expected to leave the club in the summer after rejecting two new contract offers, with Chelsea and Tottenham among the teams reportedly interested in his services. And in other transfer news, Aston Villa are said to be keen on signing Athletic Bilbao’s Spanish defender Inigo Martinez on a free transfer, but they face competition from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
