Former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch has reportedly decided against taking the Leicester City job, despite being close to finalising a deal. AC Milan have added England Under-21 striker Folarin Balogun, currently on loan at Reims from Arsenal, to their list of summer transfer targets.
Tottenham have registered an interest in signing Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea. Manchester United are keeping tabs on Celta Vigo’s Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga and have Brighton’s Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo and Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister on their transfer shortlist.
Former France striker Karim Benzema has turned down an offer from Saudi Arabia and wants to stay at Real Madrid for at least one more season. Chelsea and Liverpool are both set to target Inter Milan’s 26-year-old Italy midfielder Nicolo Barella, with Inter prepared to sell him for £44m.
Manchester United have had positive talks with Monaco over the signing of France defender Axel Disasi, while David Raya will not sign a new deal at Brentford, who may ask for £35.4m to sell him this summer.
Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho is exploring options for an Aston Villa exit, with a return to Inter Milan possible. Everton are yet to make a decision on the long-term future of England centre-back Conor Coady, who is on loan from Wolves. Bologna are competing with Leicester City to sign Birmingham City’s 18-year-old Wales midfielder Jordan James, while France midfielder Adrien Rabiot says he is still waiting to discuss a new contract with Juventus.
Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus is set to sign a new deal for next season despite having to take a pay cut, and Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez wants Sergio Busquets to stay for at least one more season before joining an MLS club.
