15/12/2022 Football – Cinch Premiership – Rangers v Hibernian

• Michael Beale takes charge of Rangers for the first time as the main man in the dugout, as they host Hibs in his dugout debut as Gers gaffer.
• Borna Barisic is still at the World Cup with Croatia, potentially playing on Saturday in the third-placed playoff after the Croats lost their semi-final to Argentina. Adam Devine impressed at left-back in a friendly victory over Leverkusen so could be given the nod in his place.
• Malik Tillman bagged a brace in the friendly at Ibrox, so should be given the nod to start alongside Ryan Kent and Rabbi Matondo in support of Antonio Colak. A late Scott Arfield goal sealed a wonderful 3-0 win so he could be pushing to start.

• Hibs manager Lee Johnson will hope to have a plethora of players back and vying for selection, as Hibernian look to salvage their season with the Hibees currently sat in eighth spot in the Scottish Premiership.
• The club have clarified that they intend to sell Ryan Porteous in the January transfer window, given his contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season. Paul Hanlon and Rocky Bushiri would be expected to start in defence in Porteous’ place.
• The likes of Aiden McGeady and Kevin Nisbet have featured in recent friendlies, as they attempt to put their injury troubles behind and return to action. But the biggest blow is losing Martin Boyle to injury for the rest of the season, as he was unable to feature for Australia at the World Cup.
