24/05/2023 Football – Cinch Premiership – Rangers v Hearts

The Gers’ coach, Michael Beale, introduced a couple of modifications to the Rangers’ lineup that recently secured their inaugural triumph over Celtic this season with a 3-0 win at Ibrox, followed by a noteworthy 3-1 victory against Hibernian at Easter Road.

Leon King was teamed up with John Souttar in the defense, stepping in for Connor Goldson. Ridvan Yilmaz and the club’s skipper James Tavernier, who scored the initial goal in his 400th match for Rangers, completed the defensive quartet.

Ianis Hagi, celebrating his first Rangers’ goal in over a year in just his third season’s start, paired up with Todd Cantwell – the scorer of the second goal in Edinburgh – to provide support to Fashion Sakala in the forward line.

Meanwhile, Steven Naismith, the temporary coach for Hearts, implemented two changes to the Jambos squad that previously secured a draw against St Mirren in Paisley, 2-2, followed by a crucial 2-1 victory over Aberdeen at Tynecastle on Saturday.

The alterations were made in the full-back positions, with James Hill and Andy Halliday making way for Nathaniel Atkinson and Alex Cochrane, who were slated to start as right-back and left-back, respectively.

Peter Haring and Cammy Devlin maintained their roles starting ahead of the defensive line. Yutaro Oda and Barrie McKay were on hand to back up the energetic pairing of Josh Ginnelly and Lawrence Shankland, who were the scorers in the weekend game against the Dons.
