Champions League 28/9/2021 – Porto v Liverpool
- Chancel Mbemba is suspended after his red card in Madrid two weeks’ ago and with Pepe a doubt, Ivan Mercano may partner Fabio Cardoso at the heart of the defence.
- Agustin Marchesin is close to a return to fitness, but Sergio Conceicao is expected to keep faith with Diogo Costa after his penalty stop at Gil Vicente on Friday.
- Marko Grujic is available and should start against his former club here.
- Neco Williams has travelled and may be called upon right away with Trent Alexander-Arnold not deemed fit enough for the trip.
- Joe Gomez has played at right-back in the past but not for several years now while James Milner is a more experienced option than Williams.
- Expect Klopp to make some changes with one eye on Sunday’s meeting with Manchester City. Roberto Firmino, Kostas Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate are all in line to feature.

- Idrissa Gueye missed the 1-1 draw with Club Bruges, but is available following a ban, but Angel Di Maria is suspended.
- Leo Messi and Marco Verratti are expected to make the matchday squad but it’s unclear whether they will be fit enough to start.
- Sergio Ramos remaisn sidelined for PSG, however Layvin Kurzawa, Colin Dagba and Juan Bernat are all back in training.
- Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to be given the nod in place of Keylor Navas between the sticks.
- Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and John Stones were all fit enough for the 1-0 win at Chelsea on Saturday, with the former pair starting at Stamford Bridge.
- Stones could come in for his first City appearance of the season in place of Laporte given their tough run of games.
- Ilkay Gundogan has been ruled out by Pep Guardiola until after the international break.
