  • Jakub Moder is Brighton’s only confirmed absentee for their welcome of Tottenham.
  • Enock Mwepu is a doubt due to illness, though was unlikely to have started.
  • Roberto De Zerbi may go with the same XI that started the 3-3 draw with Liverpool.
  • Emerson Royal is suspended for Tottenham following his dismissal in the North London Derby, so Ivan Perisic may start on the right with Antonio Conte not prepared to trust Matt Doherty or Djed Spence here.
  • Conte is without injured trio Lucas Moura, Japhet Tanganga and Dejan Kulusevski, the latter’s absence a big blow.
  • The Italian boss may also go for a 3-4-3 system once more, despite calls to switch to a 3-5-2.

  • Alex Neil could make one change to the side that claimed a point against Burnley with wing-back Harry Clarke returning on the left.
  • Josh Laurent joins a growing injury list for the Potters.
  • George Baldock suffered an injury against QPR in midweek, meaning Rhys Norrington-Davies will push up to a wing-back role.
  • Anel Ahmedhodzic’s injury return could be sooner than expected but the Bosnian international will remain unavailable here, meaning youngster Kyron Gordon could start at centre-back.

08/10/2022 Football – Cinch Premiership

  • Callum Davidson named two changes to the Saints side that won the Tayside derby, defeating Dundee United 2-1 at Tannadice, before they fell to defeat in Ayrshire as they lost to Kilmarnock on Wednesday night by the same scoreline.
  • James Brown replaced Adam Montgomery at left wing-back, who is ineligible for this one. The 20-year-old is on loan from Celtic and can’t play against his parent club here.
  • Ali Crawford replaced Jamie Murphy, looking to support Nicky Clark and Stevie May in attack. David Wotherspoon was back on the bench, looking to make his first appearance since November. Theo Bair pulled back a consolation in midweek and could be pushing for a start here.
  • Ange Postecoglou named the same Celtic side, that beat Motherwell 2-1 at Parkhead, ahead of their Champions League clash in Germany where they fell to a 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.
  • Stephen Welsh has continued to start in the Hoops eleven, at Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt’s expense. The American seems closer to a return than the Swede, both of whom are the reigning champions’ only injury doubts.
  • That’s because, whilst Wednesday’s goalscorer Jota, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi kept their places in the front three, Greek forward Giorgos Giakoumakis was back on the bench against Leipzig as he aims to return to full fitness.
