  • Ruud Vormer excelled against Kortrijk in the absence of Eder Balanta at the weekend, but the latter may return here having missed the weekend victory owing to his late return from international duty.
  • Club Bruges have no injury or suspension concerns for the welcome of Manchester City.
  • Having secured positive results against PSG and RB Leipzig, expect Philippe Clement to continue with the same XI for the third Champions League game running.
  • Ederson and Gabriel Jesus both missed the 2-0 win over Burnley following their late return from international duty, but should start in goal and attack, respectively, here.
  • Ferran Torres is sidelined for the foreseeable future here owing to a foot fracture sustained on international duty.
  • Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko were both fit enough or the bench over the weekend and are set to play some part.

  • With Stefan Savic suspended and Jose Gimenez injured, Geoffrey Kondogbia may start at centre-back here should Diego Simeone elect to use a three-man defence.
  • Matheus Cunha remains sidelined, but Marcos Llorente is back running and hoping to feature.
  • However, it’s likely that Thomas Lemar and Rodrigo De Paul will flank Koke in the middle of the park.
  • Fabinho and Alisson flew direct to Madrid following international duty and the pair should start here.
  • Curtis Jones is a major doubt and with Thiago and Harvey Elliott ruled out, Naby Keita and James Milner are battling to complete the midfield.
  • On the back of his stunning display at Watford, Jurgen Klopp may continue with Roberto Firmino in attack.

Champions League 19/10/2021 – Celtic v Ferencvaros

Due to the COP26 climate summit taking place in Glasgow in November, neither Celtic or Rangers will be allowed to play at home on matchday four.

As a result, both sides have had to rearrange their matchday three games to been played at home.

In an additional complication, Celtic and Rangers can not play at home on the same night.

The Gers host Brondby on Thursday and consequently, Celtic will now be forced to play on Tuesday this week with an earlier kick-off time of 3.30pm due to the Champions League fixtures later that evening.

  • Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to spring any huge selection surprises for the welcome of Ferencvaros.
  • The Celtic boss is without Greg Taylor, Christopher Jullien, James Forrest and Josip Juranovic here.
  • Ferencvaros have no main injury concerns for the trip to Celtic, bar the absence of David Siger, who is a long-term absentee.
