  • There are no injury concerns for Costa Rica ahead of the game against Spain.

  • Romelu Lukaku has not played a competitive game since the end of October, only making five appearances across all competitions for Inter Milan this season and is likely to miss the opening two World Cup games for Belgium, owing to a thigh injury.
  • Thomas Meunier has been missing for his club side Borussia Dortmund since mid-October owing to a fractured cheekbone, but came on in Friday’s friendly defeat against Egypt, so should be alright to start here.
  • Leandro Trossard missed that game on Friday due to a knock he received in training, but he should be fine for this game, though he is unlikely to start.
  • Alphonso Davies has been carrying a hamstring injury, which has meant he hasn’t played since near the start of November, though it looks as if he is fit enough to start here after returning to full training.
  • Stephen Eustaquio and Milan Borjan were both carrying knocks in the lead up to this game, but have since taken part in full training, so will likely start in this game.
