- Jesse Marsch could be without up to 11 players for Wednesday’s welcome of Manchester City, but is hopeful over Illan Meslier, Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra.
- Tyler Adams is suspended after his red card in the 4-3 loss to Tottenham before the World Cup break.
- Stuart Dallas and Archie Gray are absent for the Whites.
- Julian Alvarez is absent following his exploits at the World Cup, while Ruben Dias is out for the festive period due to a hamstring problem.
- Kalvin Phillips will be assessed, but is unlikely to have started.

- Hibernian manager Lee Johnson made just one change to his side despite falling to a 3-2 defeat, despite taking the lead twice, away to Rangers at Ibrox before a 4-0 thumping of 10-man Livingston at Easter Road on Christmas Eve.
- Rocky Bushiri partnered Paul Hanlon at the back, with Ryan Porteous joining Joe Newell in a midfield berth. Kyle Magennis and Elie Youan started on the flanks. The only change saw Lewis Stevenson replace Marijan Cabraja at left-back.
- Kevin Nisbet scored for the third consecutive time at Ibrox, making his first start since February against Rangers, and kept his place up front at Mykola Kukharevych’s expense for Livingston’s visit to the capital.
- Ange Postecoglou named three changes to the Celtic side that sealed a 2-1 home victory against Livingston, before a 4-1 thumping of St Johnstone at Parkhead on Christmas Eve.
- Josip Juranovic was still unavailable for the league leaders. The Croatia international was representing his national team in Qatar as they finished third. With Anthony Ralston injured, Reo Hatate took his spot at right-back.
- Aaron Mooy entered the midfield, to join Callum McGregor and Matt O’Riley. James Forrest and Daizen Maeda started to support Kyogo Furuhashi in attack, replacing Liel Abada and Jota in the Hoops’ front three.
