- Nikola Vlasic made an impact on his first start of the tournament, as Croatia beat Scotland 3-1 to qualify for the round of 16. He will hope to keep his place here.
- Dejan Lovren appears to have displaced Duje Caleta-Car at centre-back for Croatia, while Josko Gvardiol ready to continue at left-back if Borna Barisic is still unable to recover from injury.
- Sime Vrsaljko will hope to reclaim his starting spot at right-back after sitting out against Scotland.
- Bruno Petkovic and Andrej Kramaric are in competition to start up front for Croatia.
- In what is a huge blow for Croatia, Ivan Perisic has tested positive for COVID-19 with Ante Rebic in line to deputise on the left.
- Despite a penalty miss, Luis Enrique seems determined to stick with Alvaro Morata up front.
- Koke and Pedri certainly have the edge over Spain’s other midfielders heading into the knockout phase.
- Cesar Azpilicueta should keep his place at right-back after replacing Marcos Llorente for their 5-0 win over Slovakia on Wednesday.
- Pau Torres will hope to reclaim his place from Eric Garcia on Monday against Croatia.
- Pablo Sarabia was the Man of the Match against Slovakia and he will hope to keep his place in the side ahead of the likes of Gerard Moreno and Ferran Torres.

- Lucas Digne will almost certainly not recover from injury in time to face Switzerland.
- With Lucas Hernandez also a major doubt, Lyon’s Leo Dubois may have to play out of his normal position at left-back here.
- Benjamin Pavard will Jules Kounde at right-back and Adrien Rabiot will come in for Corentin Tolisso if he can shake off an ankle problem.
- Marcus Thuram and Thomas Lemar are also major doubts after reportedly picking up injuries in training on Thursday.
- The only real doubt for Switzerland is whether Ricardo Rodriguez plays in the back three or as a left wing-back.
- Kevin Mbabu should return to the side at right wing-back, while Steven Zuber will hope to start on the opposite flank after a hat-trick of assists last time out.
