  • Thomas Frank will hope to welcome back no fewer than five players for Brentford’s Boxing Day meeting with Tottenham.
  • However, Frank may be tempted to go with the same XI and setup from the 2-1 win at Manchester City before the World Cup break.
  • Ivan Toney has been charged over alleged breaches of the Football Association’s betting rules, but is available for selection for the time being.
  • Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison both sustained injuries on World Cup duty and miss out, while Ryan Sessegnon will be assessed.
  • Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero both played in Sunday’s World Cup final and will miss out. Ivan Perisic has already returned to Hotspur Way following Croatia’s exploits in Qatar.
  • Fraser Forster can be expected to feature between the sticks here, while Matt Doherty may take Emerson Royal’s spot on the right.

  • Boubacar Traore could be involved, after sustaining a knock and so will have to be assessed.
  • Jonny sustained a hamstring injury before the World Cup break and likely remains out here.
  • Diego Costa continues to miss out through suspension.
  • Raul Jimenez made his first appearance for Wolves since the end of August on Wednesday, scoring from the bench in the League Cup, and he is likely to start here.

  • Reiss Nelson injured his leg in that game and will be out of action for a few weeks
  • William Saliba was apart of the France squad who made the World Cup Final, but he could still start here.
  • Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola were apart of the World Cup squads of Morocco and France respectively, who both made it to the latter stages, so they will likely be unavailable for this one.
  • Kurt Zouma had knee surgery at the end of November, so he won’t be available for this game.
  • Maxwel Cornet suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury, so remains out.
  • Gianluca Scamacca came off in West Ham’s friendly vs Fulham with an ankle injury, so is a potential doubt for this game.
  • Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell didn’t feature at all in that game, so will have to be assessed before this game.
