- Joao Cancelo recently tested positive for COVID-19 and his Euro 2020 is over, with Diogo Dalot called up as his replacement.
- It’s between Dalot and Nelson Semedo as to who starts at right-back, with the latter likely to deputise.
- Jose Fonte and Pepe are competing to partner Ruben Dias at the heart of the Portugal defence, with the former perhaps given the nod after playing a central role in Lille’s title triumph.

- Karim Benzema had to come off against Bulgaria last week, but has shaken off a knock and should be fit to start alongside Kylian Mbappe.

- Lucas Hernandez was taken off at half-time in both of France’s warm-up games, with Lucas Digne on standby to start at left-back if required.
- Kurt Zouma will be assessed, though would not have started anyway.
- Jonas Hofmann is sidelined for Germany, but was unlikely to feature from the outset against France regardless.
- Leon Goretzka continues to work his way back from a muscle problem and is unlikely to be risked.
- Jogi Loew is expected to use a three-man defence at Euro 2020, with Joshua Kimmich set to start at right wing-back.
