Europa League 8/4/2021. Four games in the Europa League tonight, including two that involve English clubs. At 20:00, on BT Sport 1, is Arsenal v Slavia Prague. Also at 20:00, on BT Sport 2, is Granada v Manchester United. Other fixtures are Dinamo Zagreb v Villareal and Ajax v Roma.
Europa League 8/4/2021 – Arsenal v Slavia Prague
- Kieran Tierney has joined David Luiz on the sidelines with a knee injury in a big blow for the Gunners.
- Bukayo Saka,Emile Smith Rowe and Granit Xhaka are all back in full training and available to face Slavia Prague is a big boost for the home side.
- Martin Odegaard is having an ankle injury assessed picked up while on international duty with Norway.
- Gabriel had a shocker against Liverpool and Pablo Mari is an option to replace him here.
- It wouldn’t be a major surprise if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is dropped here after more poor form.
- Ibrahim Traore is targeting a return on Thursday but Ondrej Kolar and David Hovorka are long-term absentees.
- 18-year-old Matyás Vágner will be in goal for Slavia Prague on Thursady with Kolar out injured. The teenager was sent off after 18 minutes at the weekend…
- Petr Sevcik made his comeback from injury at the weekend after nearly four months out but this game is likely to come too soon for him to be considered for a start.
- Jakub Hromada and Tomas Holes are in competition to start alongside Lukas Provod in midfield on Thursday.
- Ondrej Kudela has been provisionally suspended for one match by UEFA as they investigate alleged racism from the Slavia Prague centre-back at Rangers’ Glen Kamara.
- Jan Boril may be required at centre-back as a result of Kudela’s suspension, with Murphy Oscar Dorley coming into the side at left-back.
- Granada could be missing up to six players through injury when they face Manchester United on Thursday.
- Jesus Vallejo may be required at right-back if Dimitri Foulquier is unavailable.
- Former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado will lead the line for the Spanish side. He has failed to score in three previous matches against United.
- Anthony Martial is ruled out for Manchester United with a knee injury sustained for France during the international break.
- Marcus Rashford limped off against Brighton after a knock to his ankle but was able to train on Wednesday and has travelled to Spain.
- Juan Mata and Alex Telles are also in the squad after recovering from injury and illness, respectively, but Eric Bailly has tested positive for COVID-19 and misses out.
- Dean Henderson now appears to be United’s first-choice goalkeeper so it is likely David de Gea will rotate into the side for the Europa League.
- United face Tottenham on Sunday so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may consider some changes here with Dan James, Alex Telles and Scott McTominay likely to come into the side.
