The upcoming match between Liverpool and Real Madrid has been surrounded by injury concerns and potential replacements:
- Darwin Nunez is a doubt for Real Madrid after suffering a shoulder injury against Newcastle
- Luis Diaz and Arthur remain out with long-term injuries
- Ferland Mendy is the only confirmed absence for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, having been out with an injury since January
- Aurelien Tchouameni, Karim Benzema, and Toni Kroos are also doubts for the match, having played no part in the previous game against Osasuna.

- Lukas Jutkiewicz and Tahith Chong could be recalled to the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the previous game
For Nottingham Forest:
- Arsenal loanee Marquinhos is back in training but will not feature in the upcoming match

Paris St-Germain is reportedly considering re-appointing Thomas Tuchel as the club’s manager, after sacking him in December 2020. Tuchel, who previously managed Chelsea, is expected to replace Christophe Galtier, who is currently in charge of the Ligue 1 side. Tuchel has a proven track record with PSG, having led the team to two Ligue 1 titles and a Champions League final appearance in his two seasons in charge. If he returns, he will be expected to bring back the winning culture that PSG fans have come to expect.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is reportedly open to listening to offers for midfielder Scott McTominay, with a price tag of £25m being touted for the 26-year-old Scotland international. The Red Devils are also said to have agreed to a new five-year deal with 18-year-old Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho, highlighting their commitment to investing in young talent.
On the transfer front, Spain forward Ansu Fati has reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona despite being linked with a move to Manchester United. The 20-year-old has a contract with Barcelona until 2027 and hopes to stay with the La Liga club for “many more years.” Meanwhile, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all reportedly interested in France forward Marcus Thuram, who will become a free agent this summer after rejecting a new deal with Borussia Monchengladbach.
In the managerial world, West Ham’s David Moyes is reportedly at risk of being sacked if his side loses at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Leeds United is in talks with former Watford boss Javi Gracia about their vacant managerial position, while Tottenham owner Joe Lewis and chairman Daniel Levy are said to be unsure whether to sell the club or retain control.
Finally, Liverpool’s 18-year-old Spanish midfielder Stefan Bajcetic almost joined Manchester United before the Reds stepped up their interest in him. Bajcetic’s father has revealed that Liverpool was not initially interested in signing his son from the Celta Vigo academy until they heard of United’s interest. Chelsea is also reportedly in talks about loaning Brazilian striker Andrey Santos to Palmeiras after he was denied a work permit.
