Premier League 12/3/201 – Selected Team News

Newcastle United v Aston Villa

  • Matt Ritchie made the bench in Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with West Brom to suggest any animosity between himself and Steve Bruce was behind them.
  • However, Bruce is without key injured trio Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron, while Fabian Schar joins them on the sidelines.
  • The Magpies boss could bring Andy Carroll into the starting XI in place of Ryan Fraser from the side that were held by the Baggies.
  • Dean Smith has confirmed Jack Grealish will miss out once more but Aston Villa are boosted by the availability of Matty Cash ahead of schedule.
  • Anwar El Ghazi is also fit, but Morgan Sanson and Kortney Hause are doubts for the away side. Wesley is back in training but remains weeks away from a return to full fitness.
