Driving Style

Isack Hadjar brings to Formula 1 a driving style that blends the aggressive racecraft of his junior formula days with a growing technical maturity. His approach is defined by excellent car positioning in battles, confident braking, and a natural ability to find the racing line under pressure. Hadjar is particularly strong on the opening laps of races, where his spatial awareness and bravery allow him to gain positions through the chaos of the first corners. His ability to adapt to new circuits and conditions quickly was one of the factors that caught the attention of the Red Bull junior programme.

As a rookie adjusting to the enormous step up from Formula 2, Hadjar is still developing his understanding of tyre management and energy deployment across a full F1 race distance. However, his raw speed in qualifying has already shown through on several occasions, and his racecraft in close battles demonstrates the instincts of a natural racer. His engineering feedback has been praised by the RB technical team, and his willingness to learn from the more experienced Yuki Tsunoda shows a maturity that bodes well for his long-term development in the sport.

Career

Born on 28 September 2004 in Paris, France, Isack Hadjar brings a rich multicultural heritage to Formula 1 as a driver of Franco-Algerian descent. Growing up in the French capital, Hadjar was drawn to karting at a young age and quickly established himself as one of the most promising talents in European junior motorsport. His progress through the karting ranks was swift and impressive, catching the attention of the Red Bull Junior Team, who signed him to their development programme.

Hadjar's journey through the single-seater categories was marked by consistent improvement and flashes of brilliance. He competed in Formula 3 before stepping up to Formula 2 for 2024, where he mounted a serious championship challenge. He finished as runner-up in the F2 championship, producing multiple victories and demonstrating the kind of consistency and racecraft that Red Bull look for in their junior drivers. His performance was strong enough to earn him a promotion to the F1 grid.

For 2025, Hadjar joined RB alongside the experienced Yuki Tsunoda, making him the third Frenchman on the current F1 grid alongside Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. His early races in F1 have shown the typical learning curve of a rookie, but his speed and determination are evident. As a Red Bull junior, the pathway to the senior team exists if he can demonstrate the right level of performance, providing powerful motivation for the young Parisian to maximise every opportunity he is given.
