F1 Points System Explained
In the 2026 Formula 1 season, points are awarded to the top ten finishers in a Grand Prix: 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. An additional point is awarded for the fastest lap, provided the driver finishes in the top ten. Sprint races award points to the top eight: 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. No fastest-lap bonus applies to sprints.
