The joint-longest season in F1 history — 24 races across five continents, from Bahrain in March to Abu Dhabi in December. The 2026 season debuts dramatically overhauled regulations with active aerodynamics and a more powerful hybrid system.

Six rounds feature the condensed Sprint format — an extra short race on Saturday

SQ — Sprint Qualifying (SQ1, SQ2, SQ3)
Saturday
Sprint Race — ~100 km / 30 mins
Qualifying — Q1, Q2, Q3
Sunday
Grand Prix — Full race distance

Sprint points are awarded to the top 8 finishers: 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. These count towards both championships. Six sprints = maximum 48 extra points per driver.
