What is the Modus Super Series?

The Modus Super Series is a professional darts competition organised by Modus Sports, running since 2022. It brings together some of the most beloved names in the history of the sport — former BDO World Champions, PDC Tour veterans, and household names from darts' golden era — for a weekly league-format tournament unlike anything else in the sport.

Unlike the PDC's televised majors, the Modus Super Series is built around accessibility. Every match is streamed live and free on the dedicated Pluto TV channel, with no paywalls and no subscription required. It has quickly built a loyal global audience of fans who want professional darts every day of the week, not just on big event weekends.

The action takes place at the MODUS Live Lounge in Portsmouth — a purpose-built intimate venue that delivers a club-darts atmosphere with professional production values. The tight venue creates a unique, electric feel that differs from the big arena events but has its own distinct charm.

Format

The Modus Super Series runs Monday through Saturday, with approximately 104 matches per week. Players compete in a league system across the series, with points accumulated over multiple weeks building towards a Series Champion.

History of the Modus Super Series

Modus Sports launched the Super Series as a concept to bring professional darts to a broader audience through free-to-air streaming. By partnering with Pluto TV, they avoided the subscription barriers that keep some fans away from Sky Sports or DAZN, and built a show specifically designed for the streaming age — fast-paced, constant action, six days a week.

The format has grown quickly. What began as a relatively niche offering has become a genuine fixture in the weekly darts calendar for many fans. The inclusion of popular names like Fallon Sherrock and Martin Adams brought immediate recognition and drew in audiences who might not follow the current PDC Tour regularly.

The MODUS Live Lounge in Portsmouth has become the permanent home of the series. The intimate setting is a deliberate contrast to the Alexandra Palace or Winter Gardens — close, loud, and personal. Fans can see every nuance of a player's technique in a way that the big arena events don't allow.

By Series 13, the MSS has established itself as the home of legends-format darts in the UK. No other competition offers the same combination of big names, constant action, and total accessibility.
