Premier League Darts
The PDC's 16-week roadshow. Eight players visit a different UK or European arena every Thursday from February through May, followed by a Play-Offs night at the O2 Arena. Premier League Darts is the sport's longest-running weekly televised product and the single event that most reliably sells out major arenas.
Current format (2022-present)
- Field
- 8 players - the current world champion, World Matchplay champion, World Grand Prix champion, and five PDC invitations based on Order of Merit and form.
- League Nights (16 nights)
- Each night is its own mini-tournament: three knockout rounds (QF-SF-F), best of 11 legs throughout. Winner of the night receives 5 league points, finalist 3, semi-finalist 2.
- Play-Offs
- Top 4 of the league table go forward to the Play-Offs at the O2 Arena. SF best of 19 legs, final best of 21.
- Eliminations
- Pre-2022 version eliminated the bottom player after Week 9 (Judgement Night). The current 8-man format retains all 8 for the whole league phase.

The single match everyone remembers
The 2010 Premier League final between Phil Taylor and James Wade is the match any long-term darts fan cites first when discussing the Premier League. Taylor threw two televised nine-dart finishes in the same match - the only time this has happened in televised darts. Sky Sports replays those legs every season.
Why it matters
The Premier League does something no other darts event does: it gives the sport a weekly rhythm for four months, visible in arenas ordinary sports fans already attend. For a generation of players, a Premier League invite has signalled arrival at the very top of the sport. For viewers, it is the most accessible entry point to top-level darts.
