How the Predictor Works

Our prediction model analyses multiple performance metrics to produce a statistical forecast for any match-up. Here are the key factors and how they are weighted in the final calculation.

35%

Three-Dart Average

The most significant indicator of overall ability. We use a player's season average alongside their career average, with greater emphasis on recent performances to reflect current form.

25%

Checkout Percentage

A player's ability to finish legs is often the difference in tight matches. We analyse doubles success rates across different ranges, from routine finishes to pressure checkouts above 100.

20%

Recent Form

Performance over the last 10 matches is tracked to capture momentum and confidence. Players on a winning run or returning from a poor spell are weighted accordingly.

10%

Head-to-Head Record

Some players consistently perform better against specific opponents. Historical head-to-head data is factored in where sufficient meetings have taken place.

5%

Tournament Pedigree

Major tournament experience matters. Players with a proven track record in televised events and ranking finals tend to handle pressure situations more effectively.

5%

180s per Leg

Maximums are a strong proxy for scoring power. Players who consistently hit 180s tend to apply more pressure on their opponents by finishing legs in fewer darts.

A Note on Predictions

All predictions are based on historical statistical data and should be treated as informed estimates rather than certainties. Darts is a sport where form, fitness, and the occasion all play a part. Our model provides a data-driven starting point for analysis, not a guarantee of any particular outcome.
