European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment
The European Certificate of Language Attainment. Communicative focus. Available in Bulgarian at A2–C1. Widely recognised across EU member states.

Common Questions
Is this Bulgarian course really free?
Yes, completely free. All 60 daily lessons, audio playback, quizzes and mock exams are available at no cost, with no account required.
How long does each lesson take?
Each day is designed for around 60 minutes of focused study — reading, listening to audio, a short writing task and an auto-marked quiz. You can go faster or slower as you need.
What level will I reach after 60 days?
The course takes you from absolute beginner (A1) through intermediate (A2) to upper-intermediate (B1) on the CEFR scale. Days 15, 35 and 60 are checkpoint lessons with full mock tests.
What Bulgarian qualifications can I take after this course?
The course prepares you for the STBFL exam at Sofia University (A2 or B1 level), the ECL Bulgarian exam, and the Bulgarian citizenship language test which is approximately A2 level.
Do I need any previous knowledge of Bulgarian?
No. Day 1 starts with the Cyrillic alphabet from scratch. You need no prior knowledge of Bulgarian or any Slavic language.
Does the audio work on mobile?
Yes. The audio uses your device's built-in text-to-speech for Bulgarian. On Android, install the Google Text-to-Speech engine and enable Bulgarian. On iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content and add Bulgarian. A fallback built-in voice is included if no system voice is available.
Can I track my progress?
Yes. Each day has a quiz with a 'Mark Complete' button. Your progress is saved in your browser's local storage — no account needed. The homepage shows how many of the 60 days you have completed.
